Ταξιώτης μεγάλων αποστάσεων… Από την Κερκίνη Σερρών στην Τυνησία και μετά στο Μαυροβούνιο (Montenegro). Ο λόγος για τη Χουλιαρομύτα, που ονομάζεται έτσι καθώς το ράμφος της στην άκρη είναι πλατύ σαν κουτάλι (χουλιάρη).
Είναι ένα σπάνιο πτηνό που έρχεται στην Ευρώπη τους θερινούς μήνες, ενώ τον χειμώνα μεταναστεύει στην Αφρική. Είναι πολύ σπάνιο πτηνό σε όλη την Ευρώπη και στην Ελλάδα όπου ο πληθυσμός του τα τελευταία χρόνια έχει μειωθεί σημαντικά.
Το συγκεκριμένο πτηνό της φωτογραφίας δακτυλιώθηκε ως νεοσσός στην Κερκίνη Σερρών, στις 14 Ιουνίου 2019. Παρατηρήθηκε στην Τυνησία τον Ιανουάριο του 2021 και πριν από λίγο στο Μαυροβούνιο. Που θα είναι άραγε η επόμενη παρατήρηση; Θα επιστρέψει κάποτε στον υγροβιότοπο της στην Κερκίνης;
