Έρχονται στην Ελλάδα 5.000 Αιγύπτιοι ως εργάτες γης μετά την κύρωση διακρατικής συμφωνίας Ελλάδας- Αιγύπτου.
Όπως σημειώνεται από το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, θα είναι μια καινούργια γενιά μεταναστών που θα έρχεται για ένα συγκεκριμένο χρονικό διάστημα, δεν θα κατοχυρώνουν κανένα άλλο δικαίωμα, θα έρχονται με την εγγύηση του κράτους από το οποίο προέρχονται, και θα επιστρέφουν πίσω. Υπογραμμίζει το υπουργείο ότι η συμφωνία “βάζει φρένο στα κυκλώματα διακίνησης παράνομων μεταναστών, βάζει φρένο στη νομιμοποίηση της παράνομης παρουσίας στην χώρα, και κλείνει τα παράθυρα για την εκμετάλλευση των ανθρώπων που βρίσκονται στην παρανομία”.
Όπως επισημαίνεται εάν πετύχει αυτή η συμφωνία “μπορεί να αποτελέσει τον οδηγό για μετάκληση εργαζόμενων και από άλλες περιοχές”, τονίζοντας ότι χώρα θέλει να δει εάν μπορεί να κάνει συμφωνίες ανάλογου περιεχομένου είτε για εργαζόμενους στις κατασκευές είτε για εργαζόμενους στον τουρισμό.
