Αύριο θα συμβεί μία δακτυλιοειδής μερική ηλιακή έκλειψη, η οποία θα είναι εν μέρει μόνο ορατή από την Ευρώπη, αλλά καθόλου από την Ελλάδα.
Τέτοιου είδους έκλειψη συμβαίνει όταν η Σελήνη είναι πολύ μακριά από τη Γη (κοντά στο απόγειό της) για να καλύψει τελείως τον ηλιακό δίσκο, με αποτέλεσμα να δημιουργείται ένα «δαχτυλίδι» ηλιακού φωτός γύρω από το σκοτεινό φεγγάρι, ενώ το στέμμα του Ήλιου δεν είναι ορατό στη διάρκεια της έκλειψης. Στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση η Σελήνη αναμένεται να καλύψει περίπου το 90% του ηλιακού δίσκου.
Το «μονοπάτι» πλήρους ορατότητας της έκλειψης θα περιοριστεί στην ανατολική Ρωσία, στον Αρκτικό Ωκεανό, στη δυτική Γροιλανδία και στον Καναδά, ενώ το φαινόμενο θα είναι μερικά ορατό από τις ΗΠΑ και μέρος της Ευρώπης, το οποίο όμως δεν περιλαμβάνει τη χώρα μας.
Η επόμενη δακτυλιοειδής ηλιακή έκλειψη θα λάβει χώρα στις 14 Οκτωβρίου 2023, ενώ στις 8 Απριλίου 2024 θα υπάρξει ολική έκλειψη Ηλίου.
