Έναν επώδυνο και βασανιστικό θάνατο από ασφυξία είχε μία νεαρή Βίδρα (Lutra lutra ) στην λίμνη τής Καστοριάς . Η παγίδευση από αλιευτικά εργαλεία πού χρησιμοποιούν οι αλιείς στην λίμνη, χωρίς να λαμβάνουν υπόψη τους την συνύπαρξη των ειδών, πολλές φορές έχει μοιραία κατάληξη.
Η βίδρα θεωρείται από τα σπανιότερα και πιο απειλούμενα θηλαστικά της ηπείρου. Αποτελεί σημαντικό δείκτη υγείας των ορεινών υδάτων και γι’ αυτό προστατεύεται αυστηρά σε όλες τις χώρες της Ε.Ε.
Δυστυχώς το άτυχο ζώο έφερε έντονα σημάδια τραυματισμού στην μουσούδα του και αυτό δηλώνει την έντονη αγωνία του να κόψει τα δίχτυα της παγίδας για να απελευθερωθεί… Η λίμνη της Καστοριάς έχει χαρακτηριστεί περιοχή Natura και αυτό προωθεί και ένα διαφορετικό μοντέλο ανάπτυξης που εξασφαλίζει τη συνύπαρξη ανθρώπου και φύσης.
