Έφτασε η περίοδος που οι αργυροπελεκάνοι, ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα σε μέγεθος είδη πουλιών στον κόσμο, ομορφαίνουν πολύ…πάρα πολύ!
Οι περισσότεροι πελεκάνοι πλέον περνούν τις περισσότερες ώρες στο νότιο τμήμα της λίμνης Κερκίνης στις Σέρρες, κοντά στο φράγμα, στο λιμανάκι του Λιθοτόπου και στο μοναδικό νησάκι με βράχια που υπάρχει στην περιοχή (πολύ σημαντικό καθώς καθημερινά ξεκουράζονται πάρα πολλά πουλιά εκεί) και αποκαλύπτεται όταν η στάθμη της λίμνης Κερκίνης είναι σε χαμηλά επίπεδα.
Χαρακτηριστικές φιγούρες (με ανάκατα μαλλιά και κόκκινους σάκους κάτω από τα ράμφη) καθημερινά ψαρεύουν σε μικρές αποστάσεις από την ακτή.
