Η δυτική όψη του Παρθενώνα αποκαλύπτεται ξανά στο παγκόσμιο κοινό στην πληρέστερη μορφή της μετά από δύο αιώνες (220 χρόνια), χάρη στην ολοκλήρωση των εργασιών αποκατάστασης και την οριστική απομάκρυνση των εξωτερικών σκαλωσιών που κάλυπταν μέρος του μνημείου.
Η τοποθέτηση νέων αρχιτεκτονικών μελών και η ολοκλήρωση των εργασιών αποκαθιστούν την αρχιτεκτονική ενότητα της δυτικής όψης, προσφέροντας μια εικόνα που πλησιάζει περισσότερο από ποτέ στην αρχική μορφή του Παρθενώνα. Ένα έργο υψηλής ακρίβειας και εξαιρετικής δυσκολίας, αποτέλεσμα πολυετούς προσπάθειας επιστημόνων, μηχανικών και τεχνιτών, που συμβάλλει καθοριστικά στη διατήρηση και ανάδειξη της παγκόσμιας πολιτιστικής μας κληρονομιάς.
