Σαν σήμερα, στις 8 Οκτωβρίου του 1838 ο Γέρος του Μοριά, Θεόδωρος Κολοκοτρώνης μίλησε στην Πνύκα. Η ομιλία του πρωτοδημοσιεύτηκε στις 13 Νοεμβρίου του 1838 στην αθηναϊκή εφημερίδα «Αιών» του Ιωάννη Φιλήμων, και συνιστά πολύτιμη πνευματική παρακαταθήκη προς τους νέους.
Ο αγωνιστής της επανάστασης προτρέπει τους νέους να αποφεύγουν τη διχόνοια. Αυτή έβλαψε σοβαρά την επανάσταση. Επίσης, να διαφυλάξουν την Ορθόδοξη πίστη. Επιπλέον, να αποκτήσουν παιδεία. Μέσω αυτής θα προοδεύσει το κοινωνικό σύνολο, μέσα στο οποίο εντάσσεται και ο καθένας ατομικά.
«Εις εσάς μένει να ισάσετε και να στολίσετε τον τόπο, οπού ημείς ελευθερώσαμε• και, δια να γίνη τούτο, πρέπει να έχετε ως θεμέλια της πολιτείας την ομόνοια.
