Βλέπετε ένα Σταχτοδέλφινο που εντοπίστηκε ανάμεσα στη Χίο και την Ικαρία.
Τα Σταχτοδέλφινα είναι από τα λιγότερο μελετημένα και πιο άγνωστα είδη δελφινιών που ζουν στις θάλασσές μας. Αποτελούν το μεγαλύτερο είδος δελφινιού που συναντάται στις ελληνικές θάλασσες και το μοναδικό που παρουσιάζει μεταναστευτική συμπεριφορά.
Μετακινούνται συνεχώς σε μικρές ομάδες 3–20 ατόμων, διανύοντας μεγάλες αποστάσεις στο ανοιχτό πέλαγος.
Διακρίνονται για τις εντυπωσιακές καταδυτικές τους ικανότητες, καθώς μπορούν να φτάσουν σε βάθη έως και 300 μέτρα και να παραμένουν κάτω από την επιφάνεια για περισσότερα από 30 λεπτά.
