Τα πλαστικά που καταλήγουν στη θάλασσα δε μένουν εκεί… Το ήξερες ότι σήμερα καταπίνουμε έως και 5 γραμμάρια πλαστικό κάθε εβδομάδα, όσο δηλαδή μια πιστωτική κάρτα;
Η Ελλάδα παράγει περίπου 700.000 τόνους πλαστικών απορριμμάτων ετησίως, ενώ εκτιμάται ότι σχεδόν 11.500 τόνοι διαρρέουν κάθε χρόνο στις ελληνικές θάλασσες. Και ό, τι «καταλήγει» στη θάλασσα δεν μένει εκεί αλλά επιστρέφει στον ίδιο μας τον οργανισμό.
Τα πλαστικά είναι κυριολεκτικά παντού. Στο έδαφος, τα ποτάμια, τις θάλασσες και κατ’ επέκταση στην τροφική αλυσίδα, με τον καθένα μας να καταναλώνει ακούσια 5 γραμμάρια μικροπλαστικών την εβδομάδα!
