Η Κομισιόν κατοχύρωσε, ως νέα προστατευόμενη γεωγραφική ένδειξη από την Ελλάδα, το «αρνάκι Λήμνου».
Το «αρνάκι Λήμνου» είναι ένα ευρέως διαδεδομένο προϊόν, το οποίο παράγεται εδώ και πολλά χρόνια στη Λήμνο και τον Άγιο Ευστράτιο. Τόσο οι συγκεκριμένοι περιβαλλοντικοί παράγοντες όσο και ανθρώπινες πρακτικές, που επικρατούσαν και συνεχίζουν να επικρατούν στα νησιά της Λήμνου και του Αγίου Ευστράτιου, συνέβαλαν στην παραγωγή ενός προϊόντος με τα επιθυμητά χαρακτηριστικά. Θα προστεθεί στη λίστα των 1.594 γεωργικών προϊόντων που ήδη προστατεύονται.
Όπως σημειώνει η Κομισιόν, το «αρνάκι Λήμνου» χαρακτηρίζεται από τρυφερή, ζουμερή και απαλή υφή και από χαρακτηριστική και ευχάριστη γεύση και άρωμα.
