Είναι η μεγαλύτερη τεχνητή λίμνη της Ελλάδας και μία από τις καθαρότερες της Ευρώπης, Η Λίμνη Κρεμαστών είναι η μεγαλύτερη τεχνητή λίμνη της Ελλάδας, η καθαρότερη στην Ευρώπη και η πέμπτη καθαρότερη παγκοσμίως, με τα γαλαζοπράσινα νερά της να τροφοδοτούνται συνεχώς από τους ποταμούς Αγραφιώτη, Αχελώο, Ταυρωπό και Τρικεριώτη.
Η τεχνητή Λίμνη Κρεμαστών φτάνει τα 4.750 κυβικά χιλιόμετρα νερού σε χωρητικότητα κι έχει συνολικό μέγεθος 77,5 τετραγωνικά χιλιόμετρα. Βρίσκεται σε υψόμετρο 282 μέτρων και η ακτογραμμή της αγγίζει τα 90 χιλιόμετρα.
