Ένα τέτοιο έργο είναι η «Κοπέλα στο Παράθυρο» του λόγιου, ποιητή, μουσικού και κυρίως ζωγράφου, Γεωργίου Άβλιχου που, σαν σήμερα, το 1842, γεννήθηκε στην Τεργέστη.
Μπορείς να αισθανθείς το αναζωογονητικό αεράκι, να ακούσεις τον ήχο της θάλασσας, να γίνεις μέρος του ονειροπόλου συλλογισμού της νεαρής Ρουμπίνας (γιατί ξέρουμε το όνομά της), και σχεδόν να δεις το τοπίο που αγναντεύει από το ανοιχτό παράθυρο του εξοχικού της στα Βλαχάτα της Σάμης.
Ο Γεώργιος Άβλιχος, ο Kεφαλονίτης δημιουργός αυτού του αριστουργήματος, ξεφεύγει τελείως από την παράδοση του ακαδημαϊσμού της εποχής του. Η ατμόσφαιρα των έργων του έχει κάτι το ποιητικό και αλλοπαρμένο, μια διάσταση σχεδόν μεταφυσική. Όσον αφορά τις προσωπογραφίες του, σε αυτές διακρίνονται η αρμονία των χρωμάτων όπως και ο ρεαλισμός στην απόδοση. Ο Άβλιχος κατατάσσεται στους εκπροσώπους της επτανησιακής σχολής του 19ου αιώνα. Το έργο εκτίθεται στην Εθνική Πινακοθήκη.
