Σύμφωνα με τις μετρήσεις από όλους τους μετεωρολογικούς σταθμούς του meteo.gr/ΕΑΑ στη Θεσσαλία, στη Μακρινίτσα Πηλίου σημειώθηκε το πανευρωπαϊκό ρεκόρ μηνιαίου ύψους βροχόπτωσης κατά τη διάρκεια της κακοκαιρίας Daniel.
Όπως σημειώνουν οι επιστήμονες, ο μετεωρολογικός σταθμός της Μακρινίτσας μέχρι τις 20/09/2023 έχει καταγράψει αθροιστικό ύψος βροχόπτωσης 1.235 χιλιοστά, τιμή που αποτελεί το μεγαλύτερο μηνιαίο ύψος βροχόπτωσης που έχει καταγραφεί ποτέ στην Ευρώπη. Το προηγούμενο ρεκόρ κατείχε η Ασκύφου Χανίων από το Φεβρουάριο του 2019, όταν είχε καταγράψει μηνιαίο ύψος βροχόπτωσης 1.225 χιλιοστά.
Επίσης, κατά την κακοκαιρία Daniel καταρρίφθηκε το ρεκόρ ημερήσιου ύψους βροχόπτωσης του δικτύου μετεωρολογικών σταθμών του meteo.gr/ΕΑΑ που κατείχε από το 2009 η Μακρινίτσα, σε 4 μετεωρολογικούς σταθμούς, ένας εκ των οποίων είναι και πάλι αυτός της Μακρινίτσας.
