Είναι μία υπαίθρια λαϊκή αγορά στο Κολωνάκι, το 1928.
Στην Ελλάδα ο θεσμός αυτός ήταν γνωστός από τα χρόνια της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας, όταν γινόταν το γνωστό “παζάρι” σε μεγάλα οικιστικά κέντρα, μια καθορισμένη ημέρα της εβδομάδας. Τότε οι παραγωγοί (αγρότες, κηπουροί, κτηνοτρόφοι, βιοτέχνες που κατασκεύαζαν ιδίως, υποδήματα, δισάκια και σχοινιά κ.α.) από την γύρω περιοχή πωλούσαν την παραγωγή τους απευθείας στους καταναλωτές.
Νομικά καθιερώθηκαν επί κυβέρνησης Ελευθερίου Βενιζέλου το 1929. Τρία χρόνια αργότερα, ιδρύθηκε το Ταμείο Λαϊκών Αγορών. Οι λαϊκές αγορές από τότε που καθιερώθηκαν μέχρι να φτάσουν στη σημερινή τους μορφή, πέρασαν από πολλά στάδια εξέλιξης. Η φωτογραφία είναι του Π. Πουλίδη από το αρχείο της ΕΡΤ.
