Επιστήμονες από την WWF Ελλάδας, την Εταιρεία Προστασίας Βιοποικιλότητας Θράκης και τα πανεπιστήμια Θράκης, Θεσσαλονίκης, Αθήνας και του Ιονίου βρέθηκαν στις πληγείσες από τη μεγάλη φετινή πυρκαγιά περιοχές του Έβρου.
Κατέγραψαν την κατάσταση του οικοσυστήματος τέσσερις μήνες μετά τη φωτιά που επηρέασε πάνω από 930.000 στρέμματα του νομού και κατέστρεψε μεγάλο μέρος του Εθνικού Πάρκου Δαδιάς-Λευκίμης-Σουφλίου.
