Βλέπετε την προσωπογραφία της δίδος Μ. Χορς, το 1916. Ένα αριστούργημα της Μοντέρνας Τέχνης… Ο Νικόλαος Λύτρας, ζωγραφίζοντας τη σύζυγό του, κατάφερε να φιλοτεχνήσει ένα από τα ωραιότερα πορτρέτα της μοντέρνας τέχνης.
Ο καλλιτέχνης μπόρεσε να συνδυάσει δύο αντινομικά στοιχεία: να κάνει ένα ψυχογράφημα αυτής της όμορφης θεληματικής γυναίκας, με το έντονο βλέμμα και τη χαρακτηριστική χειρονομία, και παράλληλα να δημιουργήσει έναν πολύ μοντέρνο πίνακα.
Το πρόσωπο έχει πλαστεί με ιδιαίτερη προσοχή, ενώ το μαύρο φόρεμα ζωγραφίστηκε με πλατιές παστόζικες πινελιές που δίνουν την αίσθηση του όγκου με την ίδια τη φορά τους, χωρίς διαβαθμίσεις του τόνου.
Ο χαρακτήρας του προσώπου αναδύεται με έμφαση: έκφραση, βλέμμα, χέρια, αυτά τα καταπληκτικά απλωμένα αποφασιστικά δάκτυλα, αποκαλύπτουν τη δυνατή και ανεξάρτητη προσωπικότητα μιας μοντέρνας γυναίκας.
