Ασύλληπτο σε μεγαλοπρέπεια, λαμπρότητα και επιβλητικότητα το θέαμα του θαλασσαετού που απαντάται στον υγρότοπο της Νέας Αγαθούπολης νότια του Δέλτα του Αλιάκμονα!
Πρόκειται για τον μεγαλύτερο αετό της Ευρώπης (άνοιγμα φτερών 190-240 εκατοστών), αλλά και έναν από τους σπανιότερους!
Η χαρακτηριστική σφηνοειδής λευκή ουρά βοηθάει στην αναγνώρισή του, όπως και το κίτρινο ράμφος και ο καφέ χρωματισμός στο σώμα του, που σταδιακά προς το κεφάλι γίνεται κίτρινο – καφέ, στα ενήλικα άτομα.
